When a simple security freeze isn’t enough
A freeze can restrict certain access to a specialty consumer report, but it does not automatically correct inaccurate information already in the file. Some situations require a closer review of the report, the consumer’s documentation, prior disputes and the identity of the company furnishing the information.
Identity theft or fraud
Unauthorized accounts, inquiries or identifying information may require identity-theft documentation, disputes, blocks or direct contact with the company furnishing the information.
Mixed or duplicate files
Similar names, addresses or other identifiers can sometimes create confusing or fragmented consumer files that need to be reviewed carefully.
Prior disputes didn’t work
We can review the report, prior correspondence and responses to help identify practical next steps and where the information appears to originate.
Specialty Consumer Report Strategy Consultation
60-minute Report & Strategy Review — $195
Designed for consumers whose issue goes beyond a basic freeze consultation. We review one specialty consumer report, discuss the reporting problem, prior disputes or identity-theft concerns, and identify reasonable next steps.
What we may review
- Your specialty consumer report or disclosure
- Information you believe resulted from identity theft
- Current and former identifying information
- Prior dispute letters and bureau responses
- Freeze confirmations and related correspondence
- Relevant documentation from a furnisher or financial institution
Written action plan
For more complicated situations, a written report review and customized action plan may be available starting at $349. Scope and pricing are confirmed before additional work is performed.
